Modelling succes
When I started fulltime modelling, I had a million questions that no one could really answer. So I started to write down my growing knowledge as a starting model and collected a whole book full of ideas and tipps to help young girls persue their dreams, without losing money, selfasteem or well-being. I lived in so many countries, did so many different fotoshootings, met so many different people from different backgrounds... I hope you like what came out of it; my book "Traumberuf Topmodel".

Education & Ambition

I went through the standard schools when I was younger, then decided to become an art professor. First, I had to study to become a regular fine arts teacher (including painting, drawing, textile and sculputral design as much as wood and metalsculpting). After the first year in college I had so many modelling jobs that it made me decide to pause my studies and model for a while to see the world. Everywhere I went I visited the museums, exhibitions and galleries as much as I could.
Then in 2005, I found my self at the age of 26, freshly in love and with the wish to study arts again. I decided to go for the Art Academy in Munich, since I more or less lived there most of the time and always walk by hoping to be 'in there' someday. While preparing my portfolio to get in to the academy, I got married to my biggest sweetheart Porin Ivanisevic, and became pregnant. My last meeting before officially entering my portfolio for the first selection was about 12 hours before giving birth to my first child, Leonard Kornelis Klaus Alan, on 27. April 2006.
With this short story I want to show you, that is never too late or too complicated to go for what you really want. My first months at the academy, I used to bring my baby to the classes! There is never an excuse to do what you really want. Go for it, you only live once!
Now I already started selling paintings very successfully at high rated prices, which reassures me that it was the right decision.

Background
Youth
I grew up in the small but famous town of Gouda, where the Gouda cheese is originally from. I have two brothers and was a real tomboy; always climbing trees, tearing my dresses (to my mother's grief) and having blue spots and big scratches on my legs and arms.
Being the skinniest, tallest and blondest of my school made me stand out. And standing out is not 'cool' at the age of 13. I learned a lot during that time. For example, to always be myself, stand up for my ideas and that everybody is responsible for there own way in life.
At school, I always had good grades. I worked as the head of the school newspaper and was the class' spokesperson. I finished my high school with a good  8 (on a scale of 1-10). Therewith I became 2nd best girl of my graduate class. And yes, I am still proud of that.
I always dreamed of working as a midwife or becoming an artist in painting, drawing or even sculpting. I inherited a natural talent for (visual) arts from my mother, who is a good painter herself, and a good pair of "crafty hands" from both my parents.

Start up as a model
When I was a teenager, I secretly dreamed of becoming something glamourous such as an actress or a model. I did definitely have some acting skills, but was too shy to go to class. I loved dancing so much, that I did go to dancingclasses such as ballet, jazz-, classic- an ballroomdancing. Later I even started taking more modern dance courses like MTV dance or hip hop, although then the modelling pick up and there wasn't time enough to do all.
Than, one day, I went to a youth manifestation in the city of Utrecht with my highschool friend Judith. There, somebody from the Elite Amsterdam agency asked me if I wanted to become a model. I thought it was a joke!
Nevertheless, I went to see the agency the next day. They immediately wanted me to be in the Elite Model Look for the Netherlands, which was later that same day! I was a bit shocked but excited as well, and after making clear that I had all possibilities to finish school in case I would win, I went for it. All 23 other girls had their pictures and introduction-videotapes taken weeks in advance and had practiced their choreography. I was thrown in at the last second. Ofcourse I didn't win, but the boss of the agency told me I had become second. I was happy anyway. Soon after that, I had my first test photo shooting with Ray Christian, a famous Amsterdam-located photographer who is well-known for his celebrity portraits. Than my first job followed and I did some more tests. That's what made the rock roll!
